Hi,

I have some problems with Omnis using in web client application.

I can use a frontend some times without problems. But after some uses there is an error called "Too many users".

The only thing I can do is to restart my Windows 2003 Server.

The connection to my database is realizee via

Set current session {myDB}
Start session {dodbc}
Set hostname {User}
Set password {password}
Logon to host (Omnis character set)

I use Omnis Studio 4.2

Any ideas?

Thank you

Hi Georg,

Have you tried just restarting the Omnis Web Service in Services, rather
than restarting the whole server? Isn't there a timeout setting that you
can use to reset sessions that have been inactive for a period of time?

Yes, first I tried just restarting Omnis Web Service, but it doesn't help.
According to the timeout setting I have to look for it...
But perhaps I should say more about my problem.
It isn't only the described one, if two users want to enter the same page I also have that error.

Any more help?

Do you have multi-user Omnis serial number or are you just experimenting
with Dev Serial Number?

Georg;
The serial number is the issue. The Dev SN really allows you to launch only
one thin client session.
Try launching your library with multiple user serial number (the Web one)
and the problem should go away.

Btw, are you testing it with Web Server (like IIS) or just opening the form
directly from your Omnis?

Thank you.
I use Apache.
But there is still the problem, that I can use it about 10 times or 5 minutes and then I also get that message although I am always the same user.
So it is not really good for testing...

Georg;
What is the $timeout value of the remote task that your remote form is
using?
Also;
Is your remote form accessing Omnis data file? If so, is it using file
formats? If so, the file format should be set to Read Only.
